Progress continues to move along very quickly at the PBHCE. The team is transitioning into the first part of the finishing stage: drywall installation. Before “hanging board” could start, the team had to make sure that all the details of building infrastructure were in place. There are miles of pipe, electrical conduit and data cabling running through the walls, all of which will be covered with drywall. In addition to requited inspections from the local inspectors, the team also hosted detailed walk-throughs with clinical staff to makes sure every outlet, nurse call button and light fixture is in the right location. The team also employed augmented reality technology, which overlays a digital image of the finished space with a real time image of the existing space under construction. This technology helped the team envision elements, like nurses stations, that wont be in place for months.
With everything right where it’s supposed to be, the team has started hanging drywall. The process of hanging and then finishing the drywall will take many weeks. After this step, color and finish details will start to be applied. We can’t wait to show everyone all the special details planned for the future patients and staff of this facility.
